Wysall Multi-Room Remodel

11th June 2022

This summer the Andrew Hindes Interiors team travelled to the outskirts of Nottingham,  to undertake the remodel and installation of three bathrooms in Wysall. Working closely with our client, we understood the requirement to remodel and modernise the main bathroom and ensuites using a monochromatic colour scheme. Whilst the downstairs toilet deviated from this colour scheme to incorporate white and stained wood accents and floors.

Following the initial client meetings and scoping, the team got to work on preparing the bathrooms for the remodel. This included removing all elements of the existing bathroom until the brick was visible in the main bathroom. As a result, new plumbing and electrics were required, which was organised by Andrew Hindes Interiors to the delight of our client. The walls were then fully plasterboarded and skimmed, in preparation for the built-in bath to be installed.

To prevent the aesthetics of the bathroom from being tainted, the toilet cistern was concealed with bespoke doors being built for the boiler. At the same time, Schulter ditra underfloor heating was installed to keep the customer warm in the cooler months.

Finally, the decorative elements of the bathroom were added which featured LED ceiling spotlights and feature lights. Along with large marble effect tiles to elevate the design and modern feel.

The two ensuites on the property presented a similar brief with a contemporary look and feel. The team began removing all elements of the customers' existing bathroom back to the brick, ready for all new plumbing and electrics. Once installed, the walls were fully plaster-boarded and skimmed offering a flat surface for future tiling. Low-level shower trays were installed after the correct preparation was completed to ensure the Schulter Kerdi waterproofing system was installed correctly to prevent water leakage.

Masking the cistern and toilet pipework was necessary to prevent any damage to the overall aesthetics of the contemporary bathroom. Despite this, the practicality of the bathroom was also present as the recess of the shower was tiled, offering a shelf for our customers to store shower products. The ensuites were also fully tiled with neutral grey tiles to match the modern look and feel of the bathrooms.

To keep the ensuites warm throughout winter, Schutler Ditra underfloor heating was added and LED ceiling spotlights and feature lights were added to elevate the bathrooms.

The final room to remodel was the downstairs toilet of which the brief differed from the upstairs bathroom and ensuites. The downstairs toilet consisted of bespoke wooden wall panelling with a vanity cupboard that was built on-site. In keeping with the upstairs room, a bespoke marble effect porcelain basin sitting on the countertop was also fabricated on-site with additional marble effect porcelain tiles used behind the toilet. To keep aesthetics consistent throughout the toilet cistern was concealed and LED spotlights were installed.

The Andrew Hindes Interiors team enjoyed working on this multi-bathroom remodel and it was a pleasure to work with Mrs Newman.
