Woodthorpe Victorian Floor

Early spring 2022 our sister company Victorian Floor Tiling Ltd completed this stunning Victorian entrance porch and hallway.

The floor was originally designed by Tim at Alternative Tiles Derby who is a national leading design and supplier of these floors. His wealth of knowledge and experience enables him to draw a full scale CAD drawing which the team at Victorian Floor Tiling implement.

The property had an original, old and damaged herringbone victorian floor which was removed by the customers builders. Although the floor was stable, the levels were completely out. So the first stage was pouring some fibre reinforced levelling compound to create a level base.

A second layer of levelling compound was laid a day prior to tile installation - this ensured a completely level and smooth surface ready to accept the victorian floor tiles.

The floor was beautifully tiled in an “octagon and dot” centre pattern with a boarder and fill tile. The colours chosen by the customer complimented the home decor perfectly.

Finally all the door transitions had bespoke oak strips installed that are manufactured by a local carpenter.
