Rothley Master Bathroom Renovation

Andrew Hindes Interiors recently completed a comprehensive renovation of a bathroom in Rothley, Leicestershire, transforming the space into a modern and functional environment. The project began with a full strip-down of the existing bathroom, which involved removing all fixtures and fittings down to the brick and replacing the original floorboards with new materials. This groundwork allowed for the installation of upgraded plumbing and electrical systems, ensuring that the space met contemporary standards.
To enhance the layout and design, a false wall was constructed to enclose the shower area, complete with a built-in niche for convenience. Additionally, a half-height false wall behind the toilet and sink was created to conceal the Geberit concealed cistern and pipework, resulting in a neat and uncluttered aesthetic. The ceiling received a seamless finish, with plaster-in spotlights and a plaster-in extractor fan grill providing both functionality and elegance. An existing light tunnel was also refitted to invite natural light into the room.
Tile selections played a significant role in defining the space's character, featuring a striking green brick effect tile laid in a stacked pattern in the shower area and behind the toilet and sink. The remaining walls showcased “Kit Kat” style white pencil mosaics, while the floor was adorned with light grey stone porcelain tiles, measuring 60 x 60 cm, ensuring durability and ease of maintenance. To add a unique touch, custom floating shelves made from the same porcelain tiles were installed in a wall alcove, backlit with LED lighting to enhance the overall ambiance.
For waterproofing, Schluter Systems were employed throughout the project, guaranteeing a watertight base that supports the longevity of the renovation.
